Ceiling fan installation, step by step

We check the ceiling first

We look at roof access and the ceiling framing before we price. If a support is needed, it is in your fixed price.

DC ceiling fan or AC?

DC fans are quieter and cheaper to run. AC fans cost less up front. We help you pick.

Ceiling fan questions

Can you replace a light with a ceiling fan?

Usually, yes. We check the ceiling can hold the fan and fit a proper support if it can't.

Will you install a ceiling fan I bought myself?

Yes. We fit fans you supply, or we can supply one for you. Send us the model and we give you a free estimate.

Are DC ceiling fans worth it?

For most bedrooms, yes. DC fans run quieter, use less power and usually have more speeds on the remote.

Can I put a ceiling fan outside?

Yes, if the fan is rated for outdoor use and sits under a covered area. We fit and wire outdoor ceiling fans on patios and alfresco areas.

Do I need an electrician to replace a ceiling fan?

Yes. A ceiling fan is wired into your lighting circuit, so it is a job for a licensed electrician. You get a CCEW (Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work) when we finish.
