We check the circuit before the new one goes in. One stove swap uncovered an old fuse sub-board.

A blue flash behind the oven

After a trip, the cabling tested clear. The fault was inside the oven itself, not the wiring.

Switchboard with a main switch, labelled circuit breakers and RCBOs

No power to the cooktop

A cooktop power point had no power. We found the circuit had been locked off with copper wire.

Oven and cooktop questions

Why does my oven keep tripping the power?

Usually a failed element leaking to earth. Stop using it, then call us. We test it and replace the element or the oven.

Can I install a new oven myself?

Only if it plugs into an existing power point. A hardwired oven or cooktop needs a licensed electrician, and you get a CCEW (Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work).

Do I need a new circuit for an induction cooktop?

Often, yes. Induction cooktops can draw more power than the old one, so we check the cable and circuit breaker before you buy.

Can you supply the oven as well?

Yes. We can supply and install, or fit an oven, cooktop or range hood you have bought. Tell us the model for a free estimate.

Do you fix electric hot water?

Yes, the electrical side: elements, the circuit and the connection. A plumber fits the tank itself.
