Is your family protected?

An older board with one safety switch fitted among old switches and fuses, the other circuits unprotected

Only one circuit protected

Some older homes have a safety switch on the hot water only. Lights and power points are left exposed.

Safety switch keeps tripping

Something on that circuit is leaking power. We find it, from a wet light to a failing appliance.

It won't trip when tested

A safety switch that fails its test button needs checking. We test it and replace it if it has failed.

Safety switch installation in Newcastle, done properly

An RCBO upgrade on every circuit

An RCBO is a safety switch and circuit breaker in one. Give each circuit its own, and one fault won't black out the house.

Hidden faults found first

A new safety switch can reveal a fault that was always there. We tell you what we find and price any fix before we do it.

A switch that only looked faulty

A hot water safety switch in an Ashtonfield home seemed to fail its test. It was on off-peak power and working fine. No replacement needed.

Safety switch questions

What is the difference between an RCD and an RCBO?

An RCD (safety switch) can protect several circuits at once. An RCBO is a safety switch and circuit breaker in one, protecting a single circuit.

Why does my safety switch keep tripping?

Something on that circuit is leaking power to earth, often a faulty appliance or water in a fitting. If it still trips with everything unplugged, call us.

Should every circuit have a safety switch?

We recommend it. Every light and power point is protected, and one fault only turns off one circuit.

Do you do a safety switch inspection?

Yes. We test each safety switch, check what it protects, and tell you in plain English what needs fixing.
