Would your safety switches trip in time?

A safety switch (RCD) cuts the power before a shock hurts someone. It only works if it has been tested.

Nobody has tested them

An RCD can look fine and still fail. We push-button test and trip-time test every one.

What local businesses say

“Had some work completed in our small business - Very professional, and all items were finished to a high standard!”

Matt CoxSmall business

“Recently have had barrack electrical out on Monday to complete a huge fit-out to our workshop. I expected it to be 3 days before I had lighting in my shed, That afternoon I had lights in all 3 storage sheds, completely lit up the workshop and yard. Not to mention 6 power points also fitted indoors and outdoors. Can not recommend barrack electrical enough very satisfied with the workmanship and the time it took to complete the fit-out. Can't go wrong with Barrack electrical. Cheers from the Allied crane hire Crew.”

RCD testing questions

How often does a workplace need RCD testing?

It depends on your industry and the work done on site. We set a testing schedule that suits your site and keeps you compliant.

What is RCD trip time testing?

It measures how fast a safety switch cuts the power when it senses current leaking to earth. A slow or failed switch is recorded, and we quote to replace it.

What is the difference between RCD testing and test and tag?

RCD testing checks the safety switches in your switchboard and portable units. Test and tag checks your leads and appliances. We do both on one visit.

Will you need to turn the power off?

Yes, briefly, one circuit at a time. We plan it around your trading hours so nobody is left in the dark.

What happens if an RCD fails the test?

We tell you on the day, record the result and give you a fixed price to replace it before we do the work.
