Fault finding questions

What causes power to keep tripping?

Usually a faulty appliance, water in a light or power point, or damaged cable. If it still trips with everything on that circuit unplugged, the fault is in the wiring.

Why are my lights flickering?

Often a loose connection, a failing switch or dimmer, or an old fitting. If it buzzes or smells like burning, turn it off and call us.

Can you fix it on the first visit?

If it is a simple fix, we fix it there and then. Anything bigger is priced in writing before we start.

Is a burning smell from the switchboard an emergency?

Yes. Turn off the main switch if it is safe to, keep clear, and call 0400 232 172, including after hours.
